The Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellowship (MMUF) at UChicago is a two-year program designed to support, mentor, and fund students committed to advancing diverse scholarly perspectives in academic research.
To achieve our mission, we support fellows in developing sophisticated research projects, starting with the Summer Research Training Program hosted by UChicago. In addition, we provide faculty mentoring, financial support, and a supportive community of peers. These resources introduce fellows to academic culture and help them prepare for doctoral program applications. Ultimately, the MMUF seeks to identify and guide promising students toward becoming distinguished scholars.
